How to change Tempo and Key in My-MIDI

My-MIDI is our online tool for easily customizing MIDI files you have purchased from worship-downloads.com.
In this short video you will see how to change the tempo – the speed – of a song, and the key in which it is being played, by transposing the song up or down by a number of semitones.
As usual we will select a song from our list of songs we have purchased – this time we will select Amazing Grace.
The slide bars for tempo and transposing are at the top of the left hand settings.
We supply this song to you at a tempo of 84 beats per minute, which is about right for most uses. Suppose you wanted this, though, as background music and wanted a more contemplative version. To achieve that we will slide the tempo control back to around 70 beats per minute. Since that plan is not for singing, let’s also raise the key by a full tone – for that we want to slide the transpose bar to a value of 2. If we wanted to lower the key, we would slide it to the left (or the negative) side.
Some extra information: If we change the tempo, in this case from 84 to 70, any other tempo changes already in the song will be adjusted down by the same percentage. If we transpose the song, any other key changes already in the song will change by the same amount.
Having made those changes, we can play them to see if they satisfy our need. (wait for a few moments)
If we are not satisfied, we can make other adjustments. If we are satisfied, click on “Create MIDI” and then “Download MIDI” and save the new file to our computer.
That completes this short training video. We truly hope My-MIDI helps your ministry. God bless you and your people.
